GU Live Lunch – Ep 215

LL212

Back to business this week with a catch up of all the latest social media news.

Here are the best bits:

It’s been a rather slow news week, to be honest. LinkedIn has doubled the number of characters you can use for captions, YouTube has launched the Family Center for parents to monitor usage, engagement and oversight into their kids’ channel activity, and what they’re posting and sharing in the app.

Snapchat launch sponsored adss, much like LinkedIn inMail. Snapchat said “Sponsored Snaps appear in the chat inbox as a new Snap without a push notification, and opening the message is optional. This allows advertisers to engage prospective customers all the way down the funnel all within a single ad unit; raise awareness with broad reach in the chat inbox, improve consideration with people who choose to view the Snap, and drive conversion with an in-message call-to-action.”

See you next week!
